Simple Booth vs LumaBooth at a glance

Simple Booth sells one iPad app, HALO, plus a hardware-free Virtual Booth. LumaBooth sells versions for Windows, for iPad, iPhone and Mac, and for Android.

That is the first fork. An operator who wants a Windows PC with a tethered camera, or an Android tablet, can only use LumaBooth. An operator committed to iPad can use either and should compare cost and features.

Both vendors' claims are reported here as published. This site has not run events on either app.

Yearly and short-term cost

Prices are in US dollars as read on 3 October 2026, and they are subject to change. Simple Booth's figures were read from the table on its pricing page; confirm them there before paying.

  • LumaBooth for Apple: $18 per month billed annually, or $19.99 month to month, first two devices included.
  • LumaBooth for Windows: $17 a month when billed annually; $49.99 a month otherwise.
  • LumaBooth for Android: $18 a month billed annually, $19.99 a month without the annual commitment.
  • Simple Booth Lite: $15 per week, bought through the App Store only.
  • Simple Booth Core: $24 per week, $49 per month or $490 per year.
  • Simple Booth Plus: $49 per week, $99 per month or $990 per year.
  • Simple Booth Pro: $149 per month or $1,490 per year.
  • Simple Booth Select: $249 per month or $2,490 per year; Enterprise is custom.

What weekly billing changes

Simple Booth sells plans by the week. Someone who runs a booth for one wedding weekend, or a handful of events across a year, can pay for single weeks and stop.

LumaBooth has no weekly plan in the prices we read, but its month-to-month Apple and Android rate of $19.99 is lower than one week of Simple Booth Core. For Windows the month-to-month rate jumps to $49.99, so annual billing is the sensible route there.

A reviewer sample on Trustpilot, 10 reviews with a 4.4 TrustScore on the read date, praised Simple Booth's pay-per-week option and support. Ten reviews is a small base. Our software cost comparison puts both in a wider price context.

App features, printing and sharing

Both print. Simple Booth lists wired or wireless printing through a print server. LumaBooth has a built-in print layout designer and prints from the app.

Both do green screen. Simple Booth lists green and blue screen; check its plan chart for the tier. LumaBooth lists green screen across its versions.

LumaBooth lists 360, slow-mo, mirror booth and video guestbook. We saw no 360 mode on Simple Booth's pricing page. Simple Booth lists video up to 120 seconds from Core and AI effects that use credits; check its plan chart for the tier.

For sharing, Simple Booth lists text, email, QR, AirDrop, WhatsApp, print and gallery on all paid plans. LumaBooth lists email, SMS, QR code, Instagram, WhatsApp and AirDrop, with a sharing station sold separately at $7.99 per month.

Data capture, and where a third app fits

Simple Booth is explicit about data capture: forms, Mailchimp sync and API access begin at Pro. We did not find surveys or data capture stated on LumaBooth's pricing or home page, which is not proof of absence. Ask before you buy if it matters.

A reader whose whole brief is trade-show contacts on an iPad may also look at MoveBooth. Its Plus plan at $149.99 per month collects name, email and phone, with unlimited events. Be clear about its limits: iPad only, no printing, no green screen, no DSLR, CSV export with no native CRM integration, and an app distributed through TestFlight. At that price Simple Booth Pro lists more integrations, so MoveBooth is not the automatic choice. See MoveBooth against Simple Booth for that comparison.

Which reader should choose Simple Booth and which should choose LumaBooth

Simple Booth's trial is 7 days with no card and a cap of 15 photo uploads a day. LumaBooth offers a free trial with no card and no stated length.

  • Choose LumaBooth if you want the lowest yearly cost, two devices, or a Windows or Android setup.
  • Choose LumaBooth if 360, slow-mo or a DSLR on Windows is part of your plan.
  • Choose Simple Booth if you run iPads only and work a few weeks a year, where weekly billing saves money.
  • Choose Simple Booth Pro or above if clients need data capture forms synced to Mailchimp or sent through an API.
