An iPad photo booth app for events has four jobs
This guide checks four things in an iPad booth app for paid events: the client's branding on screen and on the photo, a way to collect guest details, fast sharing, and prints when the client asks for them. Few apps do all four on the entry plan.
This page sorts the apps by which job they cover and at what plan. It is based on vendor plan tables and documentation read on 3 October 2026, not on running the apps at events. It also assumes you already own the iPad. Stands, lights and printers are covered in the equipment guides elsewhere on this site.
Data capture: the plan matters more than the app
Several apps collect guest details, but usually not on the cheapest tier. Prices as read on 3 October 2026 and subject to change.
- MoveBooth: not on Lite. Plus ($149.99/month) collects name, email and phone. Pro ($249.99/month) adds ZIP code and date of birth. Leads download as CSV.
- Simple Booth: data capture forms, Mailchimp and API start at Pro ($149/month).
- Fiesta: data collection of phone and email is on Pro ($119/month), not Plus.
- Breeze Booth: surveys and CSV or XML data export are listed at $49/month per device.
- Booth.Events: CSV export of guest emails and phones; surveys on Pro and Pro+.
- Snappic: custom surveys and data capture start at Business ($189/month), with webhooks as a paid add-on.
Branding and reporting
MoveBooth puts the customer's branding on the start screen, app background, overlay and online gallery, and reports impressions, capture rates, shares and contacts in a dashboard. Lite carries a custom logo and one image overlay. Unlimited guest-selectable overlays start on Plus.
Snappic lists full branding from Business and white-label from Premium ($279/month). Curator Live lists white-label URLs and emails on its annual Agency Pro plan. Breeze Booth's vendor describes complete control over the user interface. Which of these looks best in practice is something only a trial will show.
Printing and effects: where MoveBooth is the wrong pick
If the client wants a printed strip, MoveBooth cannot do it. It has no printing and no print layouts. Simple Booth lists wired or wireless printing through a print server, LumaBooth lists printing from its built-in layout designer, and Breeze Booth lists printing to Windows and AirPrint compatible printers.
MoveBooth also has no 360, green screen or DSLR support. For those, Snappic adds VideoFX, AI-FX and 360 from Business, and Booth.Events lists a 360 spinner on all plans. The MoveBooth and Snappic comparison goes through that trade.
Venue internet and running more than one booth
Venue Wi-Fi can be weak. MoveBooth lists offline mode on all plans, with delivery queued until the connection returns. Snappic's site describes an offline queue. Breeze Booth says it can be configured to run 100% offline. Details are in the offline photo booth app guide.
Licensing shapes the cost of a second booth. MoveBooth needs one license per active iPad. LumaBooth includes the first two devices. Curator Live says each active event requires its own license.
Sharing is the other venue-dependent piece. MoveBooth delivers by email and SMS. Simple Booth lists text, email, QR, AirDrop and WhatsApp on paid plans. Fiesta lists unlimited email, SMS, QR and AirDrop on both plans.
Which app to trial first
Trade show or brand activation where the client wants a contact list: start with MoveBooth Plus, and read the lead capture software comparison before committing. Mixed bookings with prints: start with Simple Booth or LumaBooth. Effects-led bookings: start with Snappic. In every case, test on the real iPad and the real stand.
Also weigh how the app reaches you. MoveBooth is distributed through TestFlight by install link, and no independent reviews of it were found, so allow time for a proper trial before a paid booking. Its 7-day trial requires a payment method. Simple Booth's 7-day trial and Snappic's 14-day trial do not ask for a card.
