Best software for a photo booth business, by the events you sell

The best software for photo booth business owners depends on events, hardware and licensing. Published prices and limits for eight booth apps, compared.

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-03

Quick answerNo single app is the best software for every photo booth business. LumaBooth has the lowest published price and a wide platform list. Darkroom Booth suits a Windows print booth with no subscription. Snappic and Touchpix cover 360. MoveBooth fits iPad lead capture at corporate events and little else.

Best software for photo booth business owners: it depends on what you sell

A business buys booth software differently from someone hosting one party. You pay every month whether or not you have bookings, you may run two booths on the same night, and your customers expect specific outputs. So the right pick follows from your hardware, your event mix and how the license counts devices.

This page covers booth apps only. Booking, contract and invoicing tools were not researched and are not ranked here. The picks below are based on vendor pages read on 3 October 2026, not on hands-on use. Prices can change.

Picks by type of business

Each line gives the app, the plan, the price as read on 3 October 2026 and its main limit.

  • Mixed hardware or a tight budget: LumaBooth, $18/month billed annually for Apple or Android, $17/month billed annually for Windows. The Windows price rises to $49.99 month to month.
  • Windows print booth with a DSLR, no subscription: Darkroom Booth, $295 one-time. Windows only, and updates after year one cost $95 per year.
  • 360 and AI effects on Apple hardware: Snappic Business, $189/month. The $69 Starter plan leaves those out.
  • 360 on any operating system: Touchpix MultiPass, $44/month billed annually. Plans are capped by active events.
  • Few bookings so far: Curator Live Standard, $29 per event. Each active event needs its own license.
  • iPad booth with weekly billing: Simple Booth Core, $24/week or $49/month. Data capture forms wait until Pro at $149/month.
  • Buying Photobooth Supply Co hardware: Fiesta Plus, $59/month. 360 and data collection are Pro only.
  • Corporate lead capture on iPad: MoveBooth Plus, $149.99/month. No printing, DSLR, 360 or green screen.

How licensing changes the real monthly cost

The headline price is per something, and that something differs by vendor. For a business that plans to grow past one booth, this matters more than a few dollars a month.

LumaBooth includes the first two devices. Breeze Booth is priced per device at $49/month. MoveBooth allows one active iPad booth per license, and multi-device pricing is by inquiry. Curator Live licenses each active event and charges for extra devices. Touchpix limits the number of active events per plan, from 2 on PhotoPass to 12 on Enterprise.

Before you choose, write down how many booths you expect to run on your busiest night and price that scenario. The software cost comparison has every plan.

Features that earn their place in a business

A long feature list is less useful than the few things your customers pay for. Check each of these on the vendor's own page and in a trial.

  • Printing, if you sell prints. Not every app prints.
  • Offline operation, because venue Wi-Fi can fail. Touchpix, Breeze, Snappic and MoveBooth all describe offline handling.
  • Branding and white-label options, if corporate clients want their logo and not the app's.
  • Data capture and export, if you sell to brands. See the lead capture software guide.
  • A trial you can run without paying. Snappic and Curator Live list 14 days, and Simple Booth lists 7 days with no card.

Where MoveBooth fits a booth business

MoveBooth is built for one line of work: branded iPad booths at corporate events and trade shows where the client wants guest contacts. Every plan has unlimited events and sharing with no per-share fees, which is simple to price into a quote.

For most rental businesses it is a narrow fit. It runs on iPad only and supports no printers, so it cannot serve a wedding client who wants photo strips. Its own comparison page lists 360 video, slow motion, green screen and DSLR support as things it does not do. Lead capture needs Plus or Pro, and leads export as CSV only. The app is distributed through Apple's TestFlight, not the public App Store, and no independent reviews were found. An operator who sells mostly weddings and parties should pick one of the apps above. The MoveBooth alternatives page goes through them.

How to decide in three checks

First, list your hardware. Windows and Android rule out the iPad-only apps. Second, list what your customers buy: prints, 360, or branded digital photos with contact capture. Third, price your busiest night under each vendor's license rules.

Then run a trial at home with a full mock event before paying for a year. For a wider ranking that is not limited to business owners, see the overall booth software comparison.
