A photo booth app for iPad with printer support: the short list
Printing is one of the clearest dividing lines between iPad booth apps. Some vendors treat it as a core output. Others, including MoveBooth, are digital only.
Five vendors in this guide state that their iPad app prints. The list is based on each vendor's own pages, read on 3 October 2026. No printer was connected or tested for this page.
- Simple Booth: wired or wireless printing through an industry-standard print server, including WCM and AirCast Pro, or wired to a Mac Mini.
- LumaBooth: a built-in print layout designer and printing directly from the booth app.
- Breeze Booth: prints to Windows and AirPrint compatible printers.
- Snappic: AirPrint is listed from the Starter plan. Direct USB printing is marked as coming soon on every plan.
- Foto Master FMX for iPad: print is listed among its output options.
MoveBooth is the wrong pick if you need prints
MoveBooth has no printing and no print layouts. Its own comparison page lists printing among the things it does not do, next to 360 video, slow-motion, green screen and DSLR support. There is no supported-printer list because no printers are supported.
MoveBooth delivers photos by email or SMS and through an online gallery. If digital delivery plus contact capture is the goal, it is worth a look. If a guest must walk away holding a strip, choose one of the apps above. The MoveBooth and Simple Booth comparison covers that choice in more detail.
Printer models, Canon Selphy and what the vendors do not say
None of the pricing or product pages read for this guide names specific printer models for iPad. Canon Selphy, a common question, is not mentioned on any of them. That does not mean it will not work. It means you should check the vendor's support documentation or ask its support team before buying a printer.
Touchpix's home page says you can connect a printer and start printing with its mirror booth, and names a sticker printer as compatible, but its pricing page says nothing about printing by plan. Snappic's pricing page refers to supported USB printers for its coming direct USB feature without naming them.
What each printing app costs
Entry prices as read on 3 October 2026, which the vendors can change at any time.
- Simple Booth Core: $24/week, $49/month or $490/year.
- LumaBooth for Apple: $18/month on annual billing, or $19.99 month to month.
- Breeze Booth: $49/month per device, or $499 for a year.
- Snappic Starter: $69/month.
- Foto Master FMX for iPad: $32/month per device billed annually. It also requires an active Foto Master Cloud plan.
How iPad printing usually connects
The vendor pages describe three routes. One is AirPrint, where the iPad sends the job to an AirPrint compatible printer over the network. A second is a print server, a small box or computer that sits between the iPad and a professional photo printer. Simple Booth names this route. A third is a direct USB cable, which Snappic lists as coming soon.
Which route you need depends on the printer you own or plan to buy, so decide on the printer and the app together.
Layout matters as much as the connection. LumaBooth describes a built-in print layout designer. Simple Booth lets you embed a dynamic QR code in the layout from its Plus plan, so the printed strip can link to the digital copy.
Checks to run before the event
Print a full strip from the app during the free trial, not just a test page from the iPad. Check paper size against the app's layout. Bring spare paper and ink or ribbon, and budget for them, since consumables are a running cost that no app plan covers. Decide what happens if the printer fails: every app above can also share digitally. For the rest of the kit, see what equipment a photo booth needs, and for print-friendly reception picks see the wedding booth app guide.
